The advancement of the supply chain profession in Malaysia reached a significant milestone as Sunway University and The Logistics and Supply Chain Management Society (LogiSYM) formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The collaboration, spearheaded by Sunway Business School associate dean Dr Stella Ong Kim Yoke, aims to foster a stronger connection between academia and industry.

At the MoU signing ceremony held at Sunway University, Sunway University president Prof Sibrandes Poppema and LogiSYM president Dr Raymon Krishnan signed the agreement, witnessed by Sunway University provost Prof Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam and LogiSYM Malaysia organising chairman Dr Marco Tieman.

This partnership between Sunway University and LogiSYM seeks to raise the standards of the supply chain profession in Malaysia by promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and research initiatives between academia and industry experts.

Addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities in the logistics and supply chain management field, this strategic alliance is poised to make a significant impact.

Prof Poppema expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing a holistic and industry-relevant education. By working closely with LogiSYM, we aim to contribute significantly to the development of skilled professionals in the supply chain sector.”

Dr Raymon emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry, saying, “LogiSYM is excited to join hands with Sunway University in this endeavor. Together, we can create a platform for the exchange of ideas and expertise, ultimately benefitting the growth and sustainability of the supply chain profession in Malaysia.”

The signing of the MoU represents a pivotal moment for both parties as they embark on a journey of mutual collaboration and knowledge sharing for the advancement of the supply chain profession in Malaysia.
