Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that improving academic performance in schools and institutions of higher learning will be a top priority for next year. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of focusing on the quality of education starting in January. He made this announcement during the launch of a pilot project aimed at redeveloping dilapidated schools at SK Bandar Baru Bangi on November 7th. Anwar mentioned that he will raise the issue with Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at the upcoming Cabinet meeting on November 10th.
Anwar also stated that it is crucial to concentrate on enhancing students’ performance now that efforts have been made by the government to improve the physical conditions of school facilities. He believes that improving students’ academic performance is essential due to the challenges presented by the changing global landscape. Anwar emphasized that the advancement of the nation is not possible without the development of educational quality.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the ministries will need to draft proposals to enhance students’ academic performance during the first week after schools reopen. These proposals will be submitted directly to him, accompanied by progress reports.
