Police in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, are currently investigating a case involving a man who claims to have been assaulted by members of the Johor Military Force (JMF) while watching the FA Cup final at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on July 22.
The 30-year-old victim lodged a police report on July 23 at the Sungai Besi police station in Kuala Lumpur, alleging that he was beaten while watching the match between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kuala Lumpur (KL) City.
“The victim returned to Kuala Lumpur and sought treatment at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM),” said Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin in a statement on July 24. The doctor confirmed that the victim had a broken nose, bleeding on the head and right eye, and swelling all over his body.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing grievous harm. ACP Rahmat urged any witnesses to the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
In a separate development, a three-minute video posted by a TikTok user named Daddy Man Trader showed several men being escorted out of Sultan Ibrahim Stadium by JMF members for allegedly provoking a disturbance. At the time of writing, the video had garnered over 4 million views.
