An Indonesian plantation worker lost his life in a tragic accident at Ladang Serasa, Sungai Bayu, Gua Musang. The incident occurred on Monday (Aug 21) at around 12.10pm, when the 34-year-old man, known as Syaiful, was crushed under the wheels of a tractor onto which he was loading palm oil fruit.
Supt Sik Choon Foo, the Gua Musang district police chief, confirmed that the victim died at the scene. According to him, the unfortunate event took place while the victim was loading oil palm fruit onto the tractor in a hilly site. Suddenly, the tractor started rolling in reverse, prompting the victim to try climbing back into the vehicle to stop it.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Syaiful slipped and fell under the wheels, leading to his untimely demise. The incident was immediately reported to the authorities, and the victim’s body was sent to the Gua Musang Hospital Forensics Unit for post-mortem.
The case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as per a statement released by Supt Sik Choon Foo on Tuesday (Aug 22).
