Malaysia has offered its condolences to Iran and its people after a bombing killed nearly a hundred individuals in Kerman Province on Wednesday (Jan 3).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took to Facebook to express Malaysia’s mourning and solidarity with the incident, which left over 200 people injured.
Anwar condemned the violence, citing recent events in Palestine and Lebanon as examples. Malaysia also called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
In light of the new year, Anwar urged the world to unite against violent actions and protect humanity.
International media reports detailed two bomb explosions near the burial site of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in 2020.
The incident took place during a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of Soleimani’s death.
