The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will ensure the accurate presentation of the context of hadiths during the implementation of Imam Al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith appreciation module in schools. This monitoring is essential to prevent potential issues such as misinterpretation, radicalism, and extremism in society, according to Fadhlina Sidek, the Education Minister.

In response to a supplementary question from Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari (PH-Sungai Petani) regarding the steps taken by the Education Ministry to monitor the implementation of the module, Fadhlina stated that the District Education Office and State Education Department will also conduct regular monitoring to assess the effectiveness of module delivery.

The Ministry of Education launched the module on August 19 with the aim of promoting the appreciation of hadiths at the school level. The pilot program of the module will be initially implemented at 61 National Religious Secondary Schools and 228 Government-Aided Religious Schools across the country. To ensure proper implementation of related activities, schools can download the module through the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia platform, as mentioned by Fadhlina.

Regarding the original question from Roslan Hashim (PN-Kulim Bandar Baharu) about the removal of five hadiths from the module, Fadhlina reiterated that the Ministry of Education has never done so. “All 42 hadiths have been retained,” she clarified. Additionally, the Education Ministry has plans to expand this appreciation activity to all schools under its jurisdiction, involving only Muslim students starting from 2024.
