JOHOR BARU: Police in Johor Baru are searching for a group of teenagers involved in a skateboarding incident that almost caused an accident with a motorcycle.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat stated that four teenagers were captured on video skateboarding downhill near the Persada Johor International Convention Centre.
“This is a serious matter that puts the safety of other road users at risk,” he said in a statement. “We will conduct surveillance in the area and take strong action against those involved.”
An investigation is underway under Rule 3 of the Road Traffic Rules (prohibition of the use of certain micro mobility vehicles) 2021, which is punishable under Section 119 of the Road Transport Act 1987. Violators may face a fine of up to RM2,000 or imprisonment for not more than six months.

Earlier, a Facebook user shared a 36-second video showing the teenagers skateboarding downhill. In the video, one of the teens loses control and is hit by an oncoming motorcycle. The video has garnered over 100,000 views.
