The left lane of Jalan Tebrau in Johor Baru will be closed from November 1 to the end of this year for the construction of the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link). Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd announced that the closure is necessary for piling work on the external ramp construction for the RTS Link. The closure will last for 61 days and will be in effect 24 hours a day.
To compensate for the closed lane, road users will be directed to use the right lane for their journey. Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd advises drivers to follow the traffic signs and instructions during this road closure.
The RTS Link project is expected to be operational by 2026. It will connect Bukit Chagar in Johor Baru with Woodlands North in Singapore. The system is designed to transport 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
