According to Beaufort OCPD Deputy Supt Ismail Abdullah, a 34-year-old woman in Beaufort district was allegedly assaulted by her 35-year-old husband on Saturday (Feb 10) after he suspected her of infidelity. The man reportedly punched his wife in the face and threatened her life while they were in a parked car outside their home in Kg Siaun, Menumbok.
Deputy Supt Ismail Abdullah stated, “From initial investigations, it is learnt that the couple got into an argument after the man accused his wife of cheating on him. He grew jealous and hit his wife in the face and threatened to kill her.”
As a result of the assault, the woman suffered injuries on her right cheek and under her eyebrows. After her husband was picked up following a police report being lodged, he was remanded for four days until Thursday (Feb 15) to aid in the investigation.
The case is currently being investigated for causing hurt and domestic violence, as confirmed by Deputy Supt Ismail Abdullah.
