The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has established an operations room to receive information and complaints regarding corrupt acts and abuse of power in the Jepak state by-election, located in Bintulu.
In a statement, the MACC announced that the operations room will be open 24/7 from Saturday, October 21 until November 4, at the Bintulu MACC office.
The statement also provided alternative methods for the public to report corruption and abuse of power, such as through email at [email protected] or by calling 086-316 200.
Furthermore, the MACC issued a reminder to candidates and political parties participating in the by-election to avoid actions that may breach election laws and regulations.
The Jepak by-election was triggered by the passing of its incumbent assemblyman, Datuk Talib Zulpilip, aged 72 and representing Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), on September 15. – Bernama
