According to Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, a jogger in Seksyen 27 was injured and left bleeding after a struggle with a would-be snatch thief on Thursday (Nov 9) morning. The victim, who is 30 years old, was exercising outdoors at 5.50am when a motorcyclist came up to him, brandishing a machete and attempting to snatch his bag. Despite the victim’s resistance, he was injured by the suspect, though no losses were incurred as the attempted theft was unsuccessful. The victim received treatment at Hospital Shah Alam, and his sister filed a police report on Thursday night, said ACP Mohd Iqbal.
He also mentioned that efforts are being made to locate the suspect, with this being the first reported case of snatch theft in the area, which is not considered a known hotspot for such incidents.
