153 individuals, including 17 foreigners, have been arrested by the police for their involvement in gambling activities in Johor Baru. The arrests were made during the Ops Dadu Khas operation conducted between September 22 and 27. A total of 136 premises were raided in an effort to combat illegal online and lottery gambling activities in Johor. Out of the 153 suspects, 125 are men and 28 are women, with 10 men and 7 women being foreigners. The suspects range in age from 18 to 66 years old.
During the operation, 163 phones, 61 mobile printers, and cash amounting to RM32,699 were seized by the police. The case is currently under investigation and is being examined in accordance with Section 4A(a) and 4B(a) of the Open House Gambling Act 1953.
The local authority will cancel the licenses of the raided premises, and their electricity will be cut off by Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
