In preparation for the six state elections, a Johor exco member emphasized the critical role of the media, stating that the professionalism of media practitioners will be key in providing the public with accurate information. Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, the chairman of the state youth, sports, entrepreneur development, cooperatives, and human resources committee, expressed his belief that the media will uphold a code of ethics, ensuring balanced reporting that is not exaggerated or based on unverified sources. He made these remarks during the Johor Media Club’s annual general assembly held on Tuesday night.
Mohd Hairi extended his gratitude to the media for their efforts in keeping the public well-informed about the various initiatives undertaken by the Johor government. He attended the assembly on behalf of Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who serves as the patron of the media club.
