JOHOR BARU: Johor health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon emphasized the importance of doing proper research before creating content that could potentially lead to misinformation among the public.
He addressed a video that recently went viral, depicting an abandoned building next to Klinik Desa Bakar Batu in Johor Baru, comparing it to a “ghost house”. Ling clarified that the abandoned building was originally used as quarters and has been vacant for many years.
Ling pointed out that the Johor Health Department plans to repurpose the abandoned building to provide additional space for the existing clinic. The clinic was updated in 2010 and has since provided a comfortable environment for both medical staff and patients.
“Before sharing any information, it should be properly researched first because incomplete information has led to misunderstanding among the public, thinking the clinic is in poor condition,” Ling stated in a Facebook post on Monday (Feb 19).
The Yong Peng assemblyman and MCA Youth chief expressed gratitude to the public for their concern about medical facilities in Johor. He reassured the public that all medical facilities and services in the state will receive proper attention.
“Last year, Johor received funding of RM13mil to upgrade 29 clinics, and this year, we will continue to work hard to ensure that old health facilities are repaired and upgraded to provide better healthcare for the public,” Ling added.
