Johor’s Unity Ambassador programme, which was launched in 2022, has been a success, with more than 300 young people appointed as unity ambassadors for the state. These ambassadors, mostly university students, have been tasked with promoting unity and fostering better ties among the community through activities such as sports, agriculture, and cultural performances. The programme has received positive feedback and recognition for its efforts in promoting the Bangsa Johor spirit.

Speaking at a press conference, Ling Tian Soon, the Johor health and unity committee chairman, expressed the state’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government to expand the Unity Ambassador programme nationwide. He mentioned that the National Unity Ministry is welcome to adopt Johor’s model in other states in order to better promote unity among the people.

During the press conference, Ling also spoke about the appointment of 157 new unity ambassadors in Johor and the training they have received to effectively carry out their roles. He emphasized the importance of the programme and the impact it has had on the community.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, who was present at the event, expressed his support for the Unity Ambassador programme and its potential to be implemented in other states in Malaysia. He mentioned that the ministry is studying the matter and considering ways to introduce a similar programme in other states.

In addition to the endorsement from the National Unity Minister, the Unity Ambassador programme has also caught the attention of the Melaka government. Ling mentioned that the programme will be adopted by the Melaka government after their representatives paid a visit to Johor and learned about the programme.
