Johor BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah have been given a special gift to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary.
The gift was presented by Johor Racing as a result of their third-place finish in Race 1 of the GT World Challenge Asia final round in Sepang on Saturday (23 Sept), according to the Johor Sultan’s official Facebook page.
“This is a wonderful and meaningful gift for His Majesty and myself on our 41st wedding anniversary!” said Permaisuri Johor during the podium celebrations.
On their home ground, Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and his partner Mikael Grenier performed well in a race filled with incidents, keeping their hopes alive for winning the GT3 Driver’s Championship in Race 2 tomorrow.
The team’s other car, driven by Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and his partner Broc Feeney, made progress in the middle of the field and finished in 11th place.
Also in attendance to show support were Raja Puan Besar of Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, and Datuk Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
