Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has generously donated 10,000 bags of rice weighing 10kg each to the impoverished population in Johor Baru. As someone who deeply cares about the welfare of his people, Sultan Ibrahim sympathizes with the difficulties faced by the poor due to rice shortages and escalating prices. In a statement shared on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page on October 16, His Majesty expressed his concern regarding the grievances raised by the people about the rising prices of essential commodities like rice.

In an effort to alleviate the burden faced by the people, Sultan Ibrahim provided rice assistance through the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ). The Foundation will distribute 10,000 packages of rice weighing 10kg each to those in need. The donation ceremony for the rice bags, organized by YSIJ, took place at Istana Polo in Johor Baru.

The rice bags will be distributed among the less privileged in 10 districts, including the security personnel from the Johor police contingent and the 7th Military Brigade. Specifically, Johor Baru will receive 580 rice packages, Muar will get 340 packages, Batu Pahat will receive 432 packages, Segamat will receive 305 packages, Kluang will receive 71 packages, Pontian will receive 264 packages, Kota Tinggi will receive 477 packages, Mersing will receive 149 packages, Tangkak will receive 141 packages, and Kulai will receive 251 packages.

The Johor police will receive 3,990 bags of rice, while the 7th Military Brigade will receive 3,000 packages for staff members of various ranks. Notable attendees at the ceremony included Johor Mentri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, YSIJ managing trustee Datuk Avinderjit Singh, and YSIJ chief executive officer Mohd Anizam Jamian.
