According to Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, a large crowd of 3,000 Johoreans braved heavy rain to attend a reception graced by Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar in Kluang Lake Park on Thursday (Dec 14).

MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong said that the afternoon tea event was attended by the Sultan of Johor, who is the Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of Johor Darul Ta’zim. Dr Wee was also present at the event as the Ayer Hitam MP to welcome His Majesty.

In a post on Facebook, Dr Wee wrote, “Throughout the ceremony, heavy rain poured down but it did not stop 3,000 of His Majesty’s subjects from Kluang and Batu Pahat from attending this reception to show their unwavering loyalty to His Majesty Sultan of Johor.”

The reception was also attended by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Speaker of the Johor State Assembly Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi and his deputy Datuk Samsolbari Jamali. Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani and state Exco members such as Ling Tian Soon and Lee Ting Han were also in attendance.

Despite the heavy rain, the strong turnout of 3,000 Johoreans at the reception indicated their unwavering loyalty to the Sultan of Johor, according to Dr Wee.
