JOHOR BARU: Dr Boo Cheng Hau, the former Johor DAP chief, pays tribute to the late Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, describing him as a hardworking and kind-hearted individual. Dr Boo has known Salahuddin for the past 26 years, having first crossed paths during the ‘Reformasi Era’ when Salahuddin was the national PAS leader and Johor PAS Youth chief while Dr Boo served as the DAP Youth chief. In a Facebook post on Monday (July 24), Dr Boo expresses deep sadness at the loss of a great comrade and friend, extending his condolences to Salahuddin’s family and vowing to remember his smile and dedication. Johor PKR vice-chairman Jimmy Puah Wee Tse also mourns the loss of his good friend Salahuddin, whom he had known for the past decade. Puah highlights their last conversation during the recent Hari Raya celebration when Salahuddin emphasized the importance of prioritizing loved ones over political life. Puah thanks Salahuddin for the invaluable lessons he taught him in a Facebook post. Johor PAS commissioner Abdullah Husin shares his grief, stating that Salahuddin had been a close friend for many years irrespective of their political differences. Abdullah remembers Salahuddin’s contributions to Johor PAS and describes his passing as a significant loss for the nation. Additionally, Abdullah shares a photograph of Salahuddin’s visit during the passing of Abdullah’s wife in December 2022, expressing his hope that Salahuddin’s family will find strength during this difficult time.
