A POWERBOAT race is set to take place during the Kanowit Festival 2023, which is scheduled from September 16 to October 1. The race, which promises excitement and suspense, will be held at the riverfront on September 23 and 24.
Among the activities lined up for the Kanowit Festival are a Rahmah sale and agency exhibition, which will take place from September 20 to 24. Additionally, a Battle of the Bands competition is scheduled for September 28. On September 30, there will be community sports, as well as competitions for strong men and traditional dress.
This year’s festival will kick off on September 16 with a native song singing competition at the main stage in Fort Emma Square. The following day, a fishing competition will be held in Sungai Kanowit. The festival’s opening on September 23 is expected to be attended by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong, and Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana.
In conjunction with the opening ceremony, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional food exhibition and a futsal competition. The festival will come to a close on October 1 with a remote control boat event. Throughout the entire duration of the festival, there will be a funfair and trade fair at Fort Emma Square, starting from September 10 until October 1.
This year’s Kanowit Festival is set to be an exciting and vibrant celebration, offering a variety of activities and entertainment for both locals and visitors.
