    Kedah police to investigate alleged video insulting Anwar.

    Kedah police in Malaysia have initiated an investigation into a video that allegedly contains insults against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The report was filed on Tuesday (Aug 1) by a member of the Pendang Umno division committee.

    According to Senior Assistant Commissioner Alzafny Ahmad, the complaint stated that the video, which was found on the TikTok account ‘Projek Papa’, contained elements that insulted the Prime Minister. The complainant also claimed that the video had seditious content that could provoke fear and discord among the people.

    SAC Alzafny stated, “The case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988”. Astro Awani reported his statement on Wednesday (Aug 2).

    The video in question is believed to feature former Umno Youth leader Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, who praised the caretake Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as a “hero” and made references to Anwar’s sodomy allegations.
