PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has urged the Johor Baru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry to continue supporting Johor’s infrastructure development and enhance local economic growth.
“In my speech, I highlighted the Chamber’s contributions to the national economy and its role in local development.
“I also reported on the economic benefits that the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System project, which I promoted during my time at the Transport Ministry, will bring to Johor,” he said on Facebook on Tuesday (Sept 17) after a session with Chamber leaders.
He was accompanied by Johor exco member and Paloh assemblyman Lee Ting Han.
“Everyone agreed that a stable political environment and an open-minded government are key factors for national and state prosperity.
“The state government, led by Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, is a perfect example of moderate and progressive governance and worthy of our collective support,” he said.
The Chamber also made eight recommendations in a memorandum it handed to Lee.
Also present were MCA vice-president and investment advisor to the Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Wira Lim Ban Hong, MCA vice-president Datuk Lawrence Low, treasurer general Tan Tuan Peng, central committee member Senator Datuk Lim Pay Hen, and other state MCA leaders.
