KUALA LUMPUR: Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil revealed that this year’s Malaysia Day will showcase the Kelana Jaya LRT line coach adorned with stories about Malaysia. Under the theme “Cerita Malaysiaku” (My Malaysian Story), the train coach will depict various accounts illustrating what it means to be a Malaysian. Fahmi highlighted the selection of the Kelana Jaya line train for this initiative due to its ability to accommodate up to 250,000 passengers each day.

An enthusiastic Fahmi explained, “The Cerita Malaysiaku initiative is our way of expressing gratitude towards our country and sharing significant facts and information about Malaysia, aiming to further instill them in our minds. This endeavor is in line with our efforts to demonstrate our love for the country. I hope to see more train coaches adorned with such designs in the future.” He made these comments while launching the Rapid KL’s “Cerita Malaysiaku” special coach program at the KLCC LRT station on September 13.

The special coach will feature stories about traditional Malaysian foods, proverbs, games, and celebrations. Additionally, it will also display facts about the Rukun Negara, the Malaysian Anthem, and the country’s most renowned flowers – the hibiscus and Rafflesia. Commuters who ride the special coach will be entertained with popular local songs and photographs of iconic places in Malaysia, like Mount Kinabalu, A’Famosa, and the Penang Bridge.

The initiative was developed by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and Rapid Rail, which serve as the main rail operator in the Klang Valley. Fahmi confirmed that the special coach began operating on September 13, allowing passengers to board from the Universiti Station to the KLCC Station. He expressed his hope for private companies to collaborate with Prasarana for similar initiatives, stating, “I welcome the cooperation of the private sector in this endeavor as we require this type of synergy to foster love for our country.”+
