CHUKAI: The newly-elected Kemaman MP Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar expressed his gratitude to all Kemaman voters as well as the PAS and Bersatu machinery for their help in making his by-election campaign successful over the past two weeks. The Terengganu Mentri Besar also stated that the victory, with a majority of more than 37,000 votes, exceeded the expectations of leaders from both parties despite the voter turnout being less than the expected 72%.
Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar emphasized that his focus in Parliament will not only be on matters related to Kemaman, but also on the larger scale of improving Terengganu and contributing to Malaysia’s well-being in various ways. He expressed his intentions to address matters concerning the state and the country as a whole.
Meanwhile, the Barisan Nasional candidate retired general Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, congratulated Ahmad Samsuri and PAS on their victory and also thanked the 27,778 Kemaman voters who had voted for him. He expressed his gratitude to the entire Umno, BN, and unity government machinery for their support during the campaign period.
Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor humbly stated, “We can only put in the effort, and I leave the rest to Allah SWT,” in a statement released on Saturday (Dec 2).
