A tragic incident occurred along the Apin-Apin road in Keningau as a man lost control of his car and skidded into a river, resulting in his untimely death.
Jupilin Anggor, aged 49, was identified as the victim by Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Hamsa Isnurdini. Anggor was found pinned to the wrecked vehicle when firemen arrived to retrieve the car.
Hamsa Isnurdini mentioned that a special tool had to be utilized to extricate Anggor from the vehicle after the accident. The incident was reported to the fire department at 9.33pm on Wednesday, March 6.
Immediately, a dedicated rescue team led by fireman Leong Hoi Min was dispatched to the scene to assist in the operation. Unfortunately, the efforts to save Anggor’s life were in vain as he was pronounced dead on site once his body was recovered.
The operations at the accident site concluded at 10.24pm, with no other casualties reported in connection to the incident. It remains a solemn reminder of the importance of road safety and the unpredictability of life.
