HONG Kong actor Philip Keung, who owns property in Penang, played host to TVB’s stars Owen Cheung and Joel Chan who came for promotional activities, reported China Press.

He brought them to a restaurant in Pulau Tikus to savour Nyonya cuisine on Sunday.

In a Facebook post, Keung uploaded two pictures of them with captions: “My brothers are here in Penang. I must make sure you all have a wonderful time!”

Some fans remarked that Keung is now a “qualified tour guide” for Penang.

Chan, who won TVB’s Best Actor award for his multiple roles in the supernatural drama Barrack O’Karma 1968, was in Queensbay Mall with Cheung earlier to promote TVB’s latest Asian entertainment channel, TVB Magic, on Saturday.

There was also a “meet the fans” session.

Chan told local media that he would be sampling Nyonya food with friends that night, followed by a jog along the beach the next morning.

Keung bought property in Penang for his wife in 2017.

The couple had spent their Chinese New Year in Penang vlogging about the food and their travels earlier this year.

    > Sin Chew Daily reported that Cantopop star Eason Chan was surprised by a card stunt that saw thousands of his fans raise squares of coloured paper to form a giant image spelling out “Happy Birthday”.

Upon seeing the birthday wish, Chan, who will turn 49 on July 27, got emotional and went down on both knees: “You all are amazing!”

He was performing at a concert that is part of his “Fear and Dreams World Tour” in the Taipei Arena on Sunday.
