The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah expressed his appreciation to the people of Bintulu and Sibu for their warm reception. He thanked the people for their rousing welcome and stated his admiration for the people of Borneo, highlighting their willingness to wait for him and his family. The appreciation was conveyed during a community dinner at the Malay Union Club (MUC) Hall on Monday (Sept 11) evening.
The dinner was organized as part of Their Majesties’ ongoing Kembara Kenali Borneo tour. Despite having traveled a distance of 1,700km from Tawau to Sibu, the King stated that he was still in high spirits. He expressed his overall gratitude for the warm reception they received in Kampung Nyabor, emphasizing the touching sight of many people lining up to greet them. He mentioned that the experience would forever remain in their hearts.
The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah also attended the dinner. The event marked the ninth day of the Kembara Kenali Borneo.
Among the notable guests present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg Deputy, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee, and Their Majesties’ sons, the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Tengku Panglima Raja Colonel Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah, and Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu’adzam Shah.
The Royal couple will have a light breakfast on Tuesday (Sept 12) morning at the Central Market before proceeding to Sri Aman and later Kuching.
