The second day of the 262nd edition of the Conference of Rulers’ meeting took place at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in attendance. The meeting was presided over by Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Johor. This session follows the previous meeting on February 22 and 23, which was chaired by Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor.
Other attendees of the meeting include Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah of Kedah, and Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.
Additionally, the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah; the Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail; and Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan, Tengku Dr Muhammad Faiz Petra, were present at the meeting as well. Governors Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak of Penang, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam of Melaka, and Tun Juhar Mahiruddin of Sabah were also in attendance. Sarawak was represented by State Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister, also attended the meeting. The Rulers were accompanied by their respective mentris besar, while the governors were accompanied by their chief ministers. The speaker of the Sarawak State Assembly was accompanied by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
In addition, the Rulers are scheduled to participate in the 263rd (Special) Meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara tomorrow, where they will elect the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
