PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, emphasized the need for strict action against those responsible for the controversial socks issue. He expressed his anger over the matter, stating that the socks sold at a convenience store chain with the word “Allah” on them were a serious offense to Muslims and a threat to national harmony.
The King highlighted the reverence Muslims hold for the word “Allah,” particularly during the Ramadan month. Sultan Ibrahim urged authorities to investigate whether the incident was intentional and to take appropriate legal action to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

His Majesty questioned how a company with Malaysian staff could overlook such sensitive issues, despite his previous reminders about not using race, religion, and royalty for political purposes. He stressed the importance of unity and respect among people of all races in a multicultural society.

In Johor Baru, the Regent of Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim also called for decisive action regarding the sale of the contentious socks. He emphasized the significance of the name “Allah” to Muslims and urged authorities to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
Tunku Ismail deemed the issue as serious and emphasized the importance of maintaining national harmony.
