TEMERLOH: Eight recipients of Rumah Rakyat Al-Sultan Abdullah (Ru’RASA) homes in Temerloh district received house keys from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. These homes were built in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government.
During the key presentation ceremony, His Majesty expressed his gratitude to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous contributions in helping those in need of homes. The Ru’RASA project is a joint initiative between the King and the UAE President, aimed at providing affordable housing for the people.
His Majesty acknowledged the efforts of the state government in supporting the construction of the homes. A total of 178 Ru’RASA homes will be built in Pahang, and currently, 92 have been completed.
In addition to presenting the keys, Al-Sultan Abdullah also visited four Ru’RASa homes in Kampung Ketam, Kuala Sanggang, Kampung Batu, and Kampung Bukit Kelulut.
The key presentation ceremony was attended by His Majesty’s sons, the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Tengku Panglima Raja Colonel Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah, and Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah. UAE Embassy Charge D’Affaires Aamer Hasan Alteneiji and the Pahang Menteri Besar were also present.
Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his gratitude to the contractors involved in the construction of the homes and prayed for their blessings. He also advised the recipients to take good care of their houses and not to sell them.
Mohamad Suhaimi Md Yusof, one of the recipients, described the Ru’RASA home he received as a blessing. The 43-year-old car workshop worker had previously applied for affordable housing schemes like the People’s Housing Project (PPR) without success. He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for providing a comfortable and fully furnished home for his family.
He added that the new house has given his children their own private space, and expressed his hope that the recipients will appreciate the property and pass it down to their heirs. If there are no heirs, they can contact the district office for guidance.
