KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has personally donated funds to vehicle owners affected by a building structure collapse on Jalan Kuchai Lama. A ceremony was held at the Brickfields district police headquarters, where the senior private secretary of His Majesty, Datuk Nazim Mohd Alim, presented the donations. Also in attendance were the Brickfields district police chief, ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor, Member of Parliament Teresa Kok, and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s aide-de-camp, SAC Mohd Azani Omar.
On August 16, a beam structure on the roof of Block A of the Sri Desa Kuchai Building collapsed, resulting in severe damage to ten vehicles. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident, which brought relief to Al-Sultan Abdullah.
The personal donations offered by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong aim to provide financial assistance to the vehicle owners who suffered losses due to the collapse. The contributions serve as support to help them overcome the difficulties and expenses they incurred as a result of this incident.
