KLANG: DAP stalwart Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang recently showed his support for the Bandar Baru Klang state seat candidate, Dr Quah Perng Fei, by making an appearance at the Taman Eng Ann area here.
Accompanied by Selangor DAP secretary Wong Sze Han, Lim engaged with party workers and residents over a cup of coffee at a local kopitiam. They later proceeded to go on a walkabout in the nearby market area.
Addressing the crowd using a megaphone and speaking in Hokkien, Lim expressed his enthusiasm and urged everyone to participate in the upcoming elections on August 12, stressing the importance of a high voter turnout for a positive outcome across six states.
Highlighting the need for reforms, Lim pointed out that Malaysia has fallen behind other countries in the region, such as Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong.
“Let’s unite and support the unity government,” he added.
Wong, in his speech also delivered in Hokkien, praised Dr Quah’s past performance as a Klang councillor and emphasized the importance of supporting their candidate.
“We must maintain the Selangor state government, ensuring a diverse, prosperous, and progressive Selangor,” Wong stated.
Furthermore, Wong explained the cooperation between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, assuring the people that they have a clear choice in the state elections.
“Choose Pakatan in state seats where Pakatan is contesting. Otherwise, vote for Barisan candidates because we are cooperating,” he advised.
