There is an investigation underway at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang regarding an allegation of negligence. This allegation concerns the hospital leaving a guidewire in the blood vessel of a patient who had undergone treatment at the facility.

Dr Zulkarnain Mohd Rawi, the director of the hospital, has assured that every complaint will be investigated transparently. The established procedures for investigation will be followed without neglecting patient rights.

Dr Zulkarnain Mohd Rawi said in a statement, “The outcome of the investigation will be communicated to the patient or family to control the confidentiality of the information. The hospital will not compromise if negligence is found to have occurred while patients are receiving treatment at HTAR.”

A post on Facebook made by a man alleging that HTAR left a 22cm long wire in a blood vessel of a kidney patient went viral. The hospital is now addressing this claim. – Bernama
