The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained a school principal and a chief administrative assistant on charges of bribery. The bribery allegedly amounted to more than RM17,000. According to a source, the 53-year-old man and 50-year-old woman were detained at the Kluang MACC office on Monday evening after their statements were recorded. The suspects are accused of soliciting and accepting a bribe as a means to secure a contract for fence maintenance work at the school dormitory in January. Johor MACC director, Datuk Azmi Alias, confirmed the arrests and stated that the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009. Both suspects have been released on MACC bail.
