Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced disruptions to its Komuter and Electric Train Services (ETS) in the Klang Valley due to a crane toppling near train tracks. The incident has obstructed both tracks for the Rawang-Tanjong Malim route, causing significant disruptions to train services.

Although the exact location of the incident was not provided, KTMB stated that the Komuter sector of Tanjong Malim-KL Sentral-Tanjong Malim route will now end at Serendah, while the ETS service will be announced at a later time.

According to a statement released on Tuesday (Dec 12), KTMB mentioned that the restoration process will take time as the power line has been severed as a result of the incident. In response to the disruption, KTMB will be offering bus services for passengers travelling in the Klang Valley, specifically for journeys between Sungai Buloh to Seredah and the KL Sentral-Sungai Buloh-Tanjung Malim route for ETS passengers.

KTMB also committed to providing updates on the latest developments as they occur and issued an apology for any inconvenience caused to passengers.

Passengers affected by the disruptions are urged to check for updates from KTMB and make necessary arrangements to adjust their travel plans accordingly. KTMB has yet to provide an estimated timeline for the restoration of the affected train services.

It is recommended for passengers to consider alternative modes of transportation or seek alternative routes during this period of disruption. KTMB has promised to keep passengers informed of any further updates regarding the disruptions and restoration efforts.

KTMB is working diligently to rectify the issue and is focusing on minimizing the impact on its passengers while ensuring safety and efficiency in its train services. The crane incident and subsequent disruptions serve as a reminder of the challenges faced in maintaining reliable and uninterrupted train services.
