KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is adding two extra ETS train services for the Padang Besar-KL Sentral-Padang Besar route during the state elections and school holiday period.
KTMB announced on Friday (Aug 4) that the additional trains will be in operation for three days, from Aug 11 to 12 for the state elections, and from Aug 25 to Sept 3 for the school holiday.
“During this period, there will be a total of 26 additional services, resulting in a total of 34 trips daily compared to the usual 32 trips,” KTMB said in a statement.
Tickets for the extra train services will be available for purchase starting from 10am on Saturday (Aug 5).
“The additional ETS services for the Padang Besar-KL Sentral route will depart at 11am and arrive at 4.36pm, while the service for the KL Sentral-Padang Besar route will depart at 5.05pm and arrive at 10.34pm,” the statement added.
A total of 630 tickets will be available daily for the additional train services, including tickets for the business class coaches, making a grand total of 8,190 tickets.
As of Friday, 68% of the tickets for the ETS services have already been sold.
The public is advised to purchase their train tickets through the KTMB Mobile (KITS) application or the official KTMB website. – Bernama
