KUALA KRAI: Kuala Krai’s flood situation is anticipated to fully recover within two days, as stated by Kuala Krai Disaster Operations Control Centre chairman Azi Rahimee Mohamed.
The district officer of Kuala Krai mentioned that the closure of numerous relief centres has enabled flood evacuees to return home.
“Other contributing factors include favorable weather conditions, a noticeable decrease in water levels at rivers in the affected areas, and previously inundated roads that are now accessible for traffic,” he added.
“God willing, if the favorable weather persists, we project that all relief centres in the district will be shuttered within two days,” he told Bernama after visiting flood evacuees at the Kuala Krai Vocational College on Wednesday (Dec 27).
At the same time, the Kelantan State Disaster Management secretariat reported that, as of 4pm today, 19 relief centres are still in operation in Kuala Krai, accommodating 1,164 victims from 329 families. – Bernama
