KUALA LUMPUR: According to Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, lack of integrity and self-interest are believed to be the motives behind the alleged abduction of a man from a restaurant in Desa Petaling by five policemen. He added that the police have completed the investigation papers related to the case and are awaiting instructions from Bukit Aman before handing it over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Comm Allaudeen stated that the investigation papers will be submitted to Bukit Aman first because the case involves members of the police force. He mentioned that the submission will most likely be done by the end of this week. This statement came during a press conference after his attendance at the ‘Back to School’ programme at the Victoria Institution on Monday, October 2.
Furthermore, Comm Allaudeen clarified that the five policemen have not yet been suspended, as action will only be taken if they are charged in court.
Last Friday, the media reported that six individuals, including five policemen from the Cheras police headquarters, were among those arrested after a man lodged a report claiming that he was abducted by a group of men from a restaurant and later assaulted at another location in Kuala Lumpur. The suspects, aged between 27 and 42, were taken into custody.
