Following the recent reshuffling of the Johor state executive councillors, Ling Tian Soon, the Johor health and environment committee chairman, believes it’s time to refocus on the state government’s aim to make Johor a developed state by 2030.
Ling notes that it is important to move forward and concentrate on the work at hand. He expresses these sentiments after attending the Harmoni Bersama (Together in Harmony) program with Johor unity, heritage, and culture committee chairman K. Raven Kumar in conjunction with Chinese New Year at Fo Guang Shan-Hsingma temple on Saturday (Feb 17).
Raven Kumar echoes similar sentiments, assuring that excos who saw a change in their portfolios will continue with the plans previously put in place.
He assures, “We will make sure that plans and work initiated previously are continued despite a change in those in charge of handling certain portfolios. If there is a need to make any changes, we will discuss it first, but we will try to stick to the plans as much as possible.”
Ling and Raven also plan to have an official meeting on Monday (Feb 19) to share information about their switched portfolios in the reshuffle.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the reshuffle on Tuesday (Feb 13), which saw former state education, information, and communication committee chairman Norlizah Nor being dropped and replaced with Tanjung Surat assemblyman Aznan Tamin.
The move also resulted in changes in the portfolios of five exco members, Ling and Raven Kumar included.
