KUALA LUMPUR: Sources claim that the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has frozen the bank accounts of an Opposition leader and his family members. The freezing of the accounts reportedly took place on Wednesday (Aug 23).
LHDN, when contacted, declined to comment on the matter and stated that only the individuals involved can confirm this development. Insiders close to the situation have confirmed that the bank accounts were indeed frozen on Wednesday.
The source revealed that the leader remained unfazed by the freezing of the accounts, stating, “Yes it happened, but he is not bothered by it. I am sure he has alternatives, hence why he is not worried about the frozen accounts.”
The frozen accounts are believed to be a part of an ongoing investigation conducted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against the mentioned individual.
