KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has highlighted the need for Malaysians to look to Sarawak as a model of harmonious coexistence, where people of various races, religions, and cultures live together in unity. The Prime Minister commended the state for its ability to address issues and differences with wisdom, kindness, and love, in contrast to divisive behavior characterized by bickering, anger, and hatred.
Anwar pointed out that certain individuals have been stirring up old grievances and blowing minor issues out of proportion, emphasizing the importance of adopting a more inclusive and tolerant approach to social and political discourse.
He also noted the peace and stability in Sarawak, attributing it to the leadership’s commitment to serving the people and building strong relationships with the Federal Government. This cooperation has paved the way for joint initiatives and development projects that benefit the community.
“Through our partnership, we are able to expedite the construction of essential infrastructure like schools and clinics, particularly in rural and remote areas, at a lower cost and with greater efficiency,” Anwar stated in a Facebook post on Saturday (March 30).
The Prime Minister recently attended a Madani Buka Puasa event at the Al-Muttaqin Mosque in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, where he interacted with over 2,000 local residents and officials.
