The presence of three children dressed in full security forces uniform caught the attention of the spectators and added to the colorful celebration of National Day 2023 here on Thursday (Aug 31).

Dhiya Aisyah Sofea Mohamad Nor Hafiz, 5, who was fully dressed in military uniform, came with two cousins, Muhammad Daniel Rayyan Mohammad, 5, and Muhammad Danish Irfan, 8.

Muhammad Daniel Rayyan and Muhammad Danish Irfan proudly paraded around dressed as a firefighter and a soldier.

Mohamad Nor Hafiz Mohd Yusof, 35, stated that the patriotic garb worn by his daughter Dhiya Aisyah Sofea and her two cousins was the center of attention as many people wanted to take pictures with them.

“It is worth spending RM300 for their uniforms because some people value them, and this is a National Day memory for my daughter and her cousins,” he told Bernama.

Mohamad Nor Hafiz mentioned that the National Day celebration this time was impressive, showcasing mesmerizing performances such as an air show involving various defense assets and a precise dive by members of Vat 69 Commando of the Royal Malaysia Police.

“My daughter was really excited to join this celebration, and we were at Dataran Putrajaya since 3 am because we wanted to be at a strategic location.

“We want to see the whole performance and parade on today’s celebration, and it’s a first for us, and we were dazzled,” said Mohamad Nor Hafiz, who lives in Putra Perdana, Puchong.

Dhiya Aisyah Sofea expressed her happiness in witnessing the parade of soldiers and tanks on National Day this time.

“It is the best celebration today that there are many soldiers,” said Dhiya Aisyah Sofea, who greatly admires the security forces personnel.

The 2023 National Day celebration in Putrajaya, which was attended by over 100,000 visitors, is the first under the Unity Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This is the fifth time Putrajaya has been the location of the National Day celebration, with previous editions in 2003, 2005, 2018, and 2019. – Bernama
