In Kuala Lumpur, Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali urged the public to report any Israeli-made products being sold in Malaysian markets to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry. Aside from monitoring prices through “Ops Pantau”, the ministry is also checking for Israeli products during the operation.
Recent reports have surfaced about dates from Israel being sold in Malaysia, prompting the ministry to include the issue in its standard operating procedure for Ops Pantau during the Ramadan month and Hari Raya.
Armizan mentioned that they will investigate the reports of more Israeli dates being sold in Malaysia and encouraged the public to report any findings through the ministry’s social media platforms.

In response to Datuk Rosol Wahid’s question about the ministry’s action regarding the sale of Israeli dates in Malaysia, Armizan stated that Malaysia does not have formal diplomatic ties with Israel, therefore Israeli citizens, products, and services are banned from entering the country.
The Customs Department seized “Organic Jumbo Medjool Dates” brought from Israel to three different locations in Malaysia on March 12, after social media posts surfaced claiming repackaged Israeli dates were being sold in the country.

These dates were found to be sold through a local organic food company in Petaling Jaya and two locations in Klang. While commending the Customs Department’s actions, Rosol urged the ministry to thoroughly monitor the situation, including online shopping platforms.
Armizan reassured Rosol that they will continue monitoring to prevent Israeli dates from being distributed to consumers in Malaysia.
