Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (pic) has urged Umno members and leaders in Sabah to move on from the party’s past troubles and instead focus on working for the people. He made this call in a message released to mark the 33rd anniversary of Umno’s establishment in Sabah on Wednesday (Feb 21). Bung Moktar emphasized the importance of tackling issues such as infrastructure that the government has not provided concrete solutions for.
He stressed the need to focus on strengthening the party’s unity to overcome challenges, particularly in the upcoming state elections. Bung Moktar highlighted the abundance of natural resources in Sabah and the necessity for government planning and actions to use these resources for economic development and the people’s well-being. He also pointed out that slogans are no longer enough – what matters is their execution.
Bung Moktar underscored the need for unity among leaders and members to ensure Umno’s relevance in Sabah. He estimated the current Umno membership in Sabah to be over 700,000 and attributed the party’s continued relevance in the face of challenges to this unity. He also recalled Umno’s experience as the Sabah state government for 28 years, during which they brought about significant development and maintained political stability.
