KUALA LUMPUR: Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman should look at Kelantan’s own administration instead of claiming the Federal Government has neglected the state, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said Mohd Syahir’s statement during his debate with Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli on Wednesday (Aug 9) was not based on facts.
The Prime Minister said Kelantan had received the biggest allocation from Budget 2023 at RM2.5bil, an increase of RM700mil from Budget 2021 when Perikatan Nasional was in power in Putrajaya.

The debate between Mohd Syahir, who is PAS assistant secretary-general, and Rafizi was broadcast live nationwide.
“That (Mohd Syahir’s statement) is a view not based on facts. I have said that Kelantan received the biggest allocation.
“We help in flood mitigation and water supply (among others).
“He should instead ask the state government about its administration (in managing the state’s problems).
“A young leader like him should be brave enough to correct the internal problems (of Kelantan’s administration) and provide suggestions.”

Anwar said he had accepted all important proposals made by the Kelantan government including on clean water supply and state development.
“Moreover, the allocation given is higher than the one set when Bersatu and PAS were the Federal Government.
“They focused on other matters when they were in power back then,” he added.
