Two individuals lost their lives and three others were wounded in a tragic accident on Jalan Kolon, Pokok Sena in Alor Setar on Sunday (Nov 3).
The head of the Fire and Rescue Department Zone 1 in Kedah, Senior Fire Superintendent I Ahmad Aminudin Abd Rahim, revealed that the lorry crash that occurred at approximately 9.55am was responsible for the deaths of Romadiah Ismail, 65, and Nadzifah Abu Seman, 28, who were in a car together.
“We received a report about the accident at 9.59am and discovered that four vehicles were involved. It is believed that a lorry skidded and collided with a sedan, a compact car, and a pickup truck,” he stated in a press release on Sunday (Dec 3).
“Teams from the Alor Setar, Pokok Sena, and Kuala Nerang stations were dispatched to extricate the victims who were trapped in their vehicles,” he added.
According to Ahmad Aminudin Abd Rahim, the two deceased individuals were handed over to the police, while the injured parties were transported to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar. – Bernama
