AMPANG JAYA: Police in Ampang Jaya successfully foiled a fake insurance claim after a man filed a false police report. The incident unfolded when the individual reported that his motorcycle had been stolen after parking it at the Taman Kosas flat on Friday. Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail stated that the suspect was apprehended within the district police headquarters’ grounds on the same day at around 1pm, revealing the false report. The suspect, a 54-year-old lorry driver, had filed the report in an attempt to make an insurance claim after being deceived into purchasing the motorcycle for RM2,000. The individual has been remanded until July 10.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail revealed that the suspect was apprehended within the premises of the district police headquarters later that day, at approximately 1pm. It was revealed that the 54-year-old suspect, who works as a lorry driver, had filed the false police report with the intention of making an insurance claim. He had been deceived into buying the motorcycle for RM2,000. As a result of his actions, the suspect has been remanded until July 10.
