SEREMBAN: The driver of a lorry which caused a 10-vehicle pile-up near the Middle Ring Road interchange killing a car driver has tested positive for methamphetamine, says the police.
The 31-year-old man was killed in the accident when his car was pinned under the quarry stone-laden lorry which turned on its side due to the impact of the crash.
Seremban police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said a 48-year-old woman has also been admitted into the intensive care unit at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.
“Other motorists who suffered injuries have been given outpatient treatment and allowed to go home,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 18).
ACP Mohamad Hatta said police will apply for an order to remand the 38-year-old lorry driver on Thursday (Sept 19).
“We have arrested the lorry driver and will take him to court to be remanded,” he said.

Ten vehicles including two lorries were involved in the 1.30pm crash near the MRR along Jalan Seremban-Tampin on Wednesday.
The lorry driver was heading towards Seremban from Tampin when he lost control of the heavy vehicle and ploughed into the other vehicles.
