A lorry driver was fatally injured in a crash on Jalan Utama in Kampung Mawai, Kota Tinggi. His attendant sustained minor injuries in the incident. The mishap occurred at approximately 12:33 PM on Thursday, August 24. The Johor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre received an emergency call regarding the accident.
“Before our arrival, the attendant managed to escape from the lorry, but unfortunately, the driver was trapped in his seat,” stated Shawaluddin Ami Nordin, the fire station chief of Kota Tinggi. A total of six firemen, along with a fire rapid tender (FRT) vehicle and an emergency medical response services (EMRS) vehicle, were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
Upon arriving at the location, Shawaluddin informed that the victim was pronounced dead by a medical officer from the Health Ministry.
