A 24-year-old woman lost her life in Batu Pahat after being run over by a lorry on KM119 Jalan Tanjung Laboh-Johor Baru-Melaka. The incident, involving three vehicles, took place at 8.30am on Tuesday, October 3rd. According to Batu Pahat deputy OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, the victim, identified as Asniza Adek @ Che Ahmad, crashed into a car parked on the motorcycle lane while riding her motorcycle. She then got flung to the right side of the road and was fatally hit by a passing lorry. Supt Shahrulanuar mentioned that the car had broken down and was parked irresponsibly on the bike lane.
The victim suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was subsequently transported to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat for a post-mortem examination. Fortunately, neither the car driver nor the lorry driver sustained any injuries in the accident. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the IPD Batu Pahat Hotline at 07-434 3999 or visit the nearest police station.
This case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act, which deals with dangerous driving.
